Highland Haunt

The Saturday before Halloween we went to the neighborhood Halloween party. It had so much potential for a good time... a costume parade/contest, bouncy house, trick or treating, caramel apples, hay rides and more. Unfortunately Tristan decided NOT to take a nap that day and he was a MONSTER. He was crabby and didn't want any part of the fun. Then, thankfully, he fell asleep in the stroller. Noah, true to his nature, was a happy baby the whole time. Good thing Halloween was the next day and went over MUCH better. There is always next year for the Highland Haunt.

Pumpkin Carving

I'm little behind on blogging. These pumpkin carving pictures were, obviously, taken a couple of weeks ago. This year Tristan was very interested in carving his pumpkin. He has learned a few new phrases, "I do it," and "my turn" and we heard them quite a bit while carving. Now don't be fooled into thinking that he knows how to take turns just because he can tell us its his turn, its "his turn" all the time. The pumpkins turned out cute and we all had fun, Noah even got in on the action.

The Simple Things

I’m joining Rebecca Cooper, author of the blog, "Simple as That," and totally amazing photographer, in documenting the simple things in my daily life, the little things and the little moments that make me smile. Each week I’ll post a photo of something simple that made me happy the past week.

I already posted this photo when I blogged about fall leaves, but I think this is a perfect capture of the simple joy of playing in the fall leaves.

Fall Leaves

Fall has arrived in Denver. The temperatures have finally fallen a bit, no more 90 degree days. The leaves are falling and its time to rake them up so this weekend Edgar and Tristan set out to rake our yard. With Tristan's help it took Edgar quite awhile to rake them all up, but it sure was was a lot of fun. There was a lot of jumping, rolling, and throwing around of leaves. They were having so much fun that Noah and I went out to see what all the fun was about.
