In Malinalco At Last

This post comes about 2 months late but I can still remember how good it felt to finally arrive in a our new home. To finally have a home again!

This is the view from my kitchen. It looks out onto the mountains that surround Malinalco.

Guayaba! Guayaba everwhere. Noah LOVES it.

One of Noah's first words was cow, thanks to our new neighbors.

Horses (and donkeys) are still used by many for transportation here in Malinalco.

Our street.

Another view of our street.

Casa Diaz. A work in progress.

The Great Escape

Abuelita has a back porch that is enclosed. One would assume, that an area that is enclosed and has a gate with a latch, would be Noah-proof. WRONG. He has learned how to lift the latch and escape.

Look at that sweet expression. Who would guess he was planning his escape. If you look close you can see I even attempted to put a bread tie on the latch to keep him in.
But....
Nothing can keep Noah in!

Trampoline

When we first arrived in Mexico we stayed with Edgar's parents for a couple of weeks while we waited for our house in Malinalco to be ready. Besides Abuelita and Abuelito the best part of their house in Metepec is the huge trampoline in their yard. This day Tristan had some friends over and they had a ball jumping until they were all worn out.

A little catch up...

This summer has been crazy. First we moved out of our house in Highlands (and sold/donated most of our belongings) and moved in with my parents. My poor parents had the rest of our belongings in their garage while we were with them for three weeks. During those weeks we packed, donated more things, and visited family and friends in Wisconsin. Then at the end of July we got on a plane with the kids, Rusty (dog), a stroller, two car seats, three carry-on suitcases, and NINE enormous suitcases. WOW. (That's all I have to say about that) Once we were in Mexico we stayed with Edgar's parents two weeks until the house we are renting was finished.

Now we are living in Malinalco. YEAH. Its so good to have our own home again. I'll blog more about Malinalco later, but for now I want to share some photos of a few of our adventures since we moved out of a sweet little house in the Highlands (Denver) in July.

A dirt pile

It has been awhile since I blogged. We have been VERY busy preparing for our move and then moving to Mexico. Right now we are staying with Edgar's parents until our lease starts August 1st. Needless to say it has been a crazy few months and it is not over yet. Later I'll to catch up on the past months (summer fun, visit the WI etc) but for now here is a little blog about a dirt pile.

Across from Edgar's parents house they are building a new house. The workers left a pile of sand/gravelish dirt and Tristan has been having a grand time making it his own personal sandbox. He took several McQueen cars (one of which I had to rescue when it got lost in the dirt) and a dump truck to the "sandbox" and was occupied for hours. Afterward he was covered head to toe in dirt but it was worth the fun. Noah, on the other hand, preferred to hang out in his car seat (which was sitting in front of the house) reading books and laughing at Tristan.
